OXFORD FLOWER BASKET COMPETITION
The Oxford Day Committee is sponsoring the first annual Oxford Day Flower Basket Competition. All residences and businesses are invited to participate.
Residence and business owners are encouraged to display fresh flowers in welcome and celebration of Oxford, spring, families and town visitors. Displays can include traditional flower baskets on doors, fences, posts, hanging basket displays, flowers displayed on architectural details or on antique tables on porches -- be creative!
Oxford will be divided into three areas for purposes of judging and awarding of ribbons.
Area one: from Pope's Tavern to Robert Morris Inn
Area two: from Pope's Tavern to Bachelor's Point
Area three: Jack's Point
There are two ways to enter: register your name and street address (not P.O. Box) in person at the Town Office, or online at: www.oxfordmd.net. Only those registered will be eligible to be judged in the competition. all entrants must be registerd by Friday, April 18, 2008. Awards will include: 1st place - blue ribbon; 2nd place - red ribbon; 3rd place - yellow ribbon. Ribbons will be warded in residence and business categories. Juding will be by members of the Queen Anne's and Dorchester County Garden Clubs, and will take place on Friday afternoon, April 25, 2008, with ribbons presented to the winners, if they are at home, or attached to the winning display.
