Following public participation in June of 2023, it was determined the new park would be named “Dugout Memorial Park” honoring the many residence who participated over the life of the Oxford Little League Field, adults who mentored the young players and the youth of Oxford who group up on this field. The Dugouts will remain in the park and memorial acknowledgements will be incorporated into the park.
The addition of the improvements proposed below are planned for the park in 2023.

Currently a local Boy Scout and his team are rehabilitating the Little League Dugouts (saved as reminder of the fields historic use as a Ball Field), the concession stand, and the storage building as his Eagle Scout Project.

Improvements to the old Little League Field were proposed in 2019, to develop a central gathering area with outdoor recreational facilities, potentially including bocce ball, chess, corn hole, table tennis, and picnicking areas. Excavation work incorporating stormwater ponds and plantings of trees and shrubs was completed in 2021 to create a pleasant surrounding and improve stormwater retention for the area.
With funding through the Maryland DNR Community Parks and Playground Program, recreational activities will be added to this park as demonstrated on this “rough” park rendition: Park Rendition
