TOWN OF OXFORD PUBLIC NOTICE OF 2025 ELECTIONS

There will be an ELECTION in the Town of Oxford to fill the expired term of
one COMMISSIONER for a three-year term of office. ELECTION DAY IS TUESDAY, JUNE 17, 2025, FROM 8 AM TO 8 PM, and in person voting will be held at the COMMUNITY SERVICES BUILDING, 101 MARKET STREET, OXFORD, MD.

IMPORTANT DATES

You may register for candidacy at the Oxford Town Office, Monday through Friday, 9 AM – Noon, 1 PM to 4 PM. If you are interested in running for the office of Town of Oxford Commissioner please complete the 2025 Certificate of Nomination linked here by May 19th at 4 PM.

Are you registered to vote? The last day to submit VOTER REGISTRATION to Talbot County Elections Board is MAY 20, 2025. Click here to register to vote in the Town of Oxford 2025 election.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR VOTERS

To vote in the Town of Oxford, MD election you must be a citizen of the United States, 18 years of age, have resided in the corporate limits of Oxford for thirty (30) days next preceding any Town election.  Must be registered to vote in accordance with the provisions of the Charter. Qualified voters must be registered to vote no later than four (4) weeks prior to the day of the election under the Maryland Universal Registry.

Interested in voting by absentee ballot? Please complete the 2025 Absentee Ballot application here. Last Request for an ABSENTEE BALLOT must be received by June 10, 2025. ABSENTEE BALLOTS must be returned to the Town Office no later than Election Day, June 17, 2025, by the close of business – 4 pm.

TOWN OF OXFORD PUBLIC NOTICE OF 2024 ELECTION

There will be an ELECTION in the Town of Oxford at 101 Market Street on June 18, 2024 to fill the expired term of one COMMISSIONER for a three-year term of office.

The polls will open at 8 am and close promptly at 8 pm. 

Live video of the election can be viewed at the Town Commissioners Streaming link below. There will be no sound until the canvassing of ballots at 8 pm, at which time the sound will be turned on. Following canvassing of ballots, results will be posted here and on the outside bulletin board located on the Morris Street side of the town building.

TOWN OF OXFORD PUBLIC NOTICE OF 2024 ELECTION

There will be an ELECTION in the Town of Oxford to fill the expired term of one COMMISSIONER for a three-year term of office.

IMPORTANT DATES:

You may register for candidacy at the Oxford Town Office, Monday through Friday, 9 to noon / 1 to 4 p.m.  The deadline for registration as a candidate for office is Monday, May 20, 2024, at 4 p.m. Certification of Nomination

Last day to register to vote is Tuesday, May 21, 2024. (Registration can be accomplished at the Oxford Town Office or at the Talbot County Board of Elections office.)

Last day to file a certificate of nomination with the Oxford Board of Supervisors of Elections for a Commissioner position as a write-in candidate is June 8th, 2024. If filed on June 8th, certificates may be left at the Town of Oxford drop box located outside of the Town Office.

Last day to request an absentee ballot is Tuesday, June 11th, 2024.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR VOTERS   (Town Charter, Article VI, Sec. C5-1)

  1. Every person must be a citizen of the United States.
  2. At least 18 years of age.
  3. Has resided in the State of Maryland for thirty (30) days preceding the next election.
  4. Has resided in the corporate limits of the Town of Oxford for thirty (30) days  preceding the next Town election.
  5. And, is registered in accordance with the provisions of this Charter.
